Work Christmas Parties
Any of you horrible cunts got any planned?

We're going to BOUNCE, Old Street apparently.

I shall be breaking my sabbatical and having a few pints, which I might end up regretting.

You cunts?

Surely the people you genuinely got on with from work, you'd be going out for a semi-regular beer with em anyway?

A group of 60 you say.
If Soldo had to meet up with all of his MATES he would need to hire the O2 arena

Re: Work Christmas Parties
Didn't use to mind them, but could be a bit awkward when you see colleagues suddenly wearing a different hat. I quite liked seeing who was going to show themselves up, ie the once a year drinkers. A lot of people you might regularly go out with drinking after work anyway, so in those cases was no different. Never liked the parties that were actually in the office.

Re: Work Christmas Parties
No not like a pub. A bit like a function with 60 guests all occupying the same exclusive space for several hours, which would be a bit like erm, er, an office Christmas party

Re: Work Christmas Parties
I was in a group of 60 plus last Saturday, 20% have now tested positive.

Unless you don’t mind the idea that you might catch it, I’d swerve any indoor gathering

What you mean some place like..... A PUB???

Yeah I'd rather catch Covid and sup a pint... cheers

Re: Work Christmas Parties
I haven't been to one since my boss years ago got absolutely bladdered and was quite inappropriate with his drunken musings for the time let alone what it would be now! It was all quite embarrassing to see this sensible chap in the workplace become an babbling wreck and no-one could take him seriously after that. So never been to one since and certainly don't miss them and neither does my wallet!

Re: Work Christmas Parties

We've been stuck indoors long enough, the chances of catching it are low and it's fucking christmas.

I hope you have a wonderful time.

Now with that, I agree. Hope yours is good too.

Re: Work Christmas Parties
I miss the days of the totally inappropriate Christmas party. I used to organise the ones for the company I worked for in my 20s/30s and they were great nights. As me and Lady B got together (ahem) at one of them we always tried to go to a Christmas party somewhere every year even though I've been self-employed for ages and we were the only employees. One Dickens themed one we went to under the tunnels at London Bridge was one of my favourite nights ever. After last year's wash-out, I'm booked at a Dickens themed one at a secret London venue.
